    1. David STEWART Family
    2. JOHN C BROOK
    3. I am searching for any information on the family of David STEWART and his wife Susan who lived in Union Township, Davis County in 1850, then moved to Decatur Co. by 1856. David Stewart, b. c. 1797 in NC Susan, b. c. 1798 in NC Eliza, b. 1827 in Tenn William A. b. 1828 in Tenn Rebecca b. 18 Jan 1830 in Tenn Harvey C. B. 1832 in Tenn Margaret P. b. 1834 in Tenn Joseph D. b. 1836 in Tenn There are conflicting reports in later census records on whether the two younger children were born in Tenn or in Iowa. However, in the 1856 Iowa census of Decatur Co, IA, the family is listed as having resided in Iowa for six years. David died befor 1870, when the census shows Susan as head of household, with eldest daughter Eliza M. living at home. The next household listed is William A. STEWART with wife Rebecca and children George, Florence and Jennie Alace. I have found no burial site for either David or Susan, and I have no information on any of the children except Rebecca Clarissa, who is my direct ancestor. She married a widower with seven children, James H. HAMMOND, and had six more children. James died in Wayne Co. Iowa. I sure would appreciate any help, and will be happy to share information on Rebecca Clarissa STEWART HAMMOND if it would help someone else. _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
