    2. Linda Power
    3. I am looking for the first wife of David POWER/POWERS, who apparently died in 1869 or 1870, in Stiles, Davis County. In the 1870 Davis County census, David and his three children...Sarah E., b in 1866 in Pa, Joseph F., b 1868, and Laura B., in 1869, both born in Davis County...were living in Grove Township, Stiles PO, in the household of Reuben Johnson, wife, Martha E., and son, Birt, age 7 months. In the 1870 census David is listed as POWERS. In 1880, 1885 and 1895, David is listed as POWER. Any and all information on David POWER/POWERS, first wife, parents, siblings. I do not have David's first wife's name but she was born in Pa, probably between 1840-1845. Thanks in advance. Linda Power petey@frugal.com

    1. [IADAVIS-L] RE: Followup to GLO, BLM Patent Record
    2. I am sorry if my first query was not as detailed, but I felt it would be too much info and even more confusing to understand. I had already ordered the complete Bounty Land Warrant Application Files and the Bounty Land Warrant files from the National Archives using Forms 80, 84. These files provided me with the information that: 1. my ancestors assigned their Bounty Land Warrants 2. the states of Missouri and Iowa was where the land was located and patented 3. the Township, Range, and Section locations within the above states. The only thing they do not provide me with are the Patent Numbers for the properties. Once receiving the information from the National Archives, the first thing I did was search the BLM~GLO online database, http://www.glorecords.blm.gov/ The MO patents I am looking for are not online, and there are no records for IA available online at this point. The $2.00 fee for a copy form the BLM~GLO, is only if the record is found online. If not, the following applies per an email from an employee at the Eastern States BLM: "We have the info (land patents) that you are searching for. However, we require advance payment for our services ($2.00 for each automated record, $15.25 if not automated). Most military warrants are not yet automated." Just to let everyone know, not all of the records that the Eastern States GLO has is available to view online. The site indicates that there are over 2 Million of them, but as mentioned above, most military warrants are not yet automated. So if you find your patent online be thankful. Unfortunately, none of the ones I need are automated yet. So it would cost $15.25 to find out any more from the BLM. If anyone has ordered a Patent that involved Military Bounty Land Warrants, and if the original Military Bounty Land Warrant was sold to an assignee, could you please let me know what the Patent you received read. Did it mention the original Military Warantee, the person who served in the military? I really appreciate everyone that tried to help answer my original query!! Thanks, Debbie

    1. [IADAVIS-L] GLO, BLM Patent Record
    2. This question is to anyone who has ordered and received Patent Records from the BLM or GLO office. My ancestors were awarded Military Bounty Land Warrants for their service to the United States during the War of 1812 and the Mexican War. Both of them ASSIGNED (sold for amount received) their Bounty Land Warrants. The assignees located and patented the land. The land was located in Gentry, Harrison, and Jackson County, MO., and Davis County, IA.. Now the question, would my ancestors be listed as the Warrantees on the Land Patent records that I could purchase from the BLM office at a cost of $15.25 per record? It is a very costly proposition, just to learn the Land Patent number!! I would need 5 Patent records. Thank you, Debbie
