    2. Jennie Williams
    3. Donna, I was looking through some things last night and found an 1850 Davis Co., IA census record listing the Lepper children of Conrad Lepper. They are: William H. born in NY around 1834. Alfred born in NY around 1837. Joseph born in IA around 1843 Royal A. born in IA around 1845. James born in IA around 1849. The last 3 kids were belong to Conrad Lepper and Sarah Barnett Johnson Heady. Conrad shows that he was born in NY around 1803. The Joseph listed above is the same as Joseph M. Lepper that I wrote to you about yesterday. I don't know if he was born in IA or IN. Census could be wrong. I think it is slowly piecing together, yes? Jennie

    1. [IADAVIS-L] Name identification
    2. Meg de Mougin
    3. I have just discovered the middle name of one of my ancestors on his Civil War record. However, I cannot read part of the name. It is not a middle name like any I have seen so I am assuming and hoping that it is a family name, like his mother maiden name. If any of you have ever seen this name or one similar...help me spell it correctly so I might be able to track it down. It looks like this Wartif _ _ _ r. or Wartif _ _ r. As I said the missing letters are hard to read. it might be: Wartifuer Wartifiur Wartifieer Wartifinr Any ideas??? Too many humps and bumps and perhaps one little dot! 2. Hello Wanda, I am a descendant of Thomas D Deskins who migrated to the Mt Sterling Iowa area. He married Mary Polly Deskins. They were from the Tazewell County Virginia area. I wonder if you have any information about your Deskin line that might connect them to my line. There were very few of them in the area that I know of and there is little doubt that they are all related.
