    2. Hello Everyone: Boy is it hot here! I think summer may finally be here. Of course, if things go the way they have been, regarding the weather, we will need blankets and jackets by the end of the week! <grin> I have spent my weekend right here in front of the computer and have gotten quite a bit done. If you visit our "What's New" page at http://www.rootsweb.com/~iaclinto/new.htm you will see that June has been a busy month. We have added the text from 1929 Clintonian CHS yearbook, typed up by Richard Carstensen; a photo from Our Lady of Angels Academy, class of 1936; a bit of church history; more of the 1929 Clinton city directory and quite a few family outlines. We also have completed the will index for 1850-1976. Jackie let me know that, if you write to the courthouse for a copy of a will, you need to have the date of death. If you don't, they will not be able to send you the copy. The book and page number is not enough. Mike Kearney has taken it upon himself to research some of the more prominent families of Clinton. He has been working on the Lamb and Young familes and has plans to do a few others. These families were so important to the growth of Clinton and Clinton county. Mike also sent quite a few photos from St. Joseph's Cemetery in DeWitt. This spurred me into thinking and I came up with a neat idea. Wouldn't it be nice to have photos of cemeteries and tombstones online? If you have photos you could share, please visit The Tombstone Photo Gallery Project at http://www.rootsweb.com/~iaclinto/cems/tombpic.htm If anyone with a digital camera would like to go around taking photos, that would be wonderful too. On the Clinton County Historical Society front: They are having their annual Ice Cream Social June 30th. Tickets and details are available at the museum. I hope those of you who live close will consider going. It is sure to be a great time for you and the whole family. The Clinton County Historical Society continues to add great content to our website and it is events such as the Ice Cream Social that keep the society going. I would like to take a minute to thank everyone who is involved in and those who visit the Clinton Co. website. We seem to have a wonderful group of people gathered here who are willing to help each other out. Thank you to everyone who have submitted info, done look-ups, let me know about corrections that need to be made or just written to say they enjoy the website. Thanks also go out to those who are involved in the various gene and historical societies. Your efforts are greatly appreciated by me and all those doing research in Clinton County.
