I am forwarding this to our all-knowing list -- can anyone answer these questions? Dear Nettie Mae-- When my grandmother died in 1965, she left the family a box full of family photographs--most of them left unidentified. There are numerous photos from before 1890 from a Lyons photographer by name of Fields. Has anyone worked with the Fields catalogue or have an index of prints w/ names? I'm guessing these folks were relatives, immigrants from Germany--either from Fehmarn Island (where the Hagedorn and Mildenstein families came from) or from the Holstein area (where the Sanders came from). Any information anyone would ha ve about the photographers and about the folks they photographed would be greatly appreciated. Perhaps some of them belong posted to your website.
