Hello Everyone: Thought I'd better check in. We have been adding more marriages to the list. JoAn Hoffman has been very busy typing. The marr1.txt file at the Archives has been updated. I have taken over the IA State Census project (the url is below) and I have been working on the 1856 state census for Clinton. I just about have Berlin township done and should have it online in a few days. If anyone would like to volunteer to help transcribe Clinton censuses, I'd be glad to have you. I know we started this at one time but never followed through. If you have access to state or federal census records, please consider transcribing them for us. They are such a great help to genealogists. Our chat on Thursday evening (at 7 p.m. central at http://iagenweb.org/state/cgi-bin/chatroom/) will be about German immigrants. Hopefully we can discuss how to find them, where they came from, how to find out where they came from and how and where to access German records. If you already know all about this subject, I hope you will join us and clue us in. Paul Riedesel has agreed to join us. You know those great big books at the library that you never really have time to read all of?
