    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: RHEA, KINNISON, MAXWELL, ARTHUR Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Qk.2ADI/2104 Message Board Post: Hi! I am looking for descendents of the David D RHEA family. I hope that by posting the information below, someone will be able to tell me something. I would be more than happy to share any information I have regarding this family. David D RHEA married to Ruth KINNISON on 02 Sep 1833 in Bath County, Virginia. He and Ruth moved to Elkhart County, Indiana about 1834 where Ruth's father, Mark KINNISON, had located. Their first son Robert David RHEA (16 July 1835) was born there. From 1836 to 1852 the family lived in nearby Clearspring Twp, LaGrange Co., IN. During that time they had four children-Archibald Franklin (July 1838), Elizabeth (abt. 1840), Catharine (abt. 1846) and Ruth Ann (abt. 1851). By deed dated 16 Dec 1852 David acquired 111.9 acres for $400 in Liberty Twp, Clinton Co, Iowa and moved the family. A child, David, was born in Nov 1855 and the mother Ruth died the following January at age 44. The son David lived a year and a month. Son Robert returned to Indiana soon after. David, Sr died in 1865. Mary Ann ARTHUR married Archibald F. RHEA before 1860. On the 1860 Liberty Township, Clinton County, Iowa Census, David RAY (misspelled) appears with his children, Elizabeth, Catharine, Ruth Ann and Archibald, along with his daughter-in-law Mary. Together Archibald and Mary had four children-Mary Estella-06 December 1860, David Arthur-01 February 1862, Jennie Ella-24 September 1864 and Catharine Harriett-15 April 1866. Mary RHEA died on 06 Aug 1867 at age 30 years and 8 months. On the 1870 Liberty Township, Clinton County, Iowa Census, Arch F RAY (misspelled) appears with daughter Catharine, age 4 as living with Eliza ARTHUR and her children in their household, but on the property of Lyman MAXWELL and his family. The MAXWELL family includes two daughters-Frances and Sarah. Frances MAXWELL married Archibald RHEA sometime in 1871. They had two children-Myrtle and William Franklin and moved on to Sac County, Iowa. Also on the 1870 Census, in DeWitt Township, Clinton County, Iowa, Stella and David RAY (misspelled) appear living with David and Martha LEMMON. I have been unable to locate Jennie RHEA on that census. The daughters of David RHEA-Elizabeth and Catharine have also disappeared. It is unknown what happened to them. Someone suggested that one of them got married and remained in the area for awhile, but as of yet, I have not found information to confirm this. I am hoping that someone will see this message and let me know what has happened to these daughters. If the family story that I was told holds true, they remained in touch with Ruth Ann's descendents, but all documents which might confirm this were lost. Ruth Ann, my descendent, was sent to Indiana to live with her brother Robert. David and Ruth RHEA, their son David and their daughter-in-law, Mary RHEA are buried at Rose Hill Cemetery, Toronto. This fact was confirmed on the Clinton County, Iowa GenWeb site. Once again, I would be happy to share information with anyone who is connected to this family and wants to share information. Thank you.
