Hello Everyone: Now that I'm done shoveling, I have time to write a line or two. Our chat last night with Cay Merryman regarding research at the LDS Family History Center went very well. She was a great guest. Next week, I hope to see all of you there -- our topic will be Volunteers! We need 'em and You got 'em -- Seriously, the chat will be about how you might be able to help the website. If you've ever thought about volunteering, now you can find out just what we need done and what you might be able to do to help. I would really like to visit with each of you and answer your questions and hear your ideas. A big reason I'm doing this chat topic is because I've gotten a new scanner -- Yeh! I would like to scan things and have volunteers to type the info up. I would like to do the 1929 Clinton city directory to serve as a bit of an index to the 1930 census. I have uploaded several family outlines sent in by Mike Kearney. He has also been posting many, many obituaries to our message boards. Thank you so much Mike, your hard work is appreciated. You might know that I also coordinate the Iowa Orphaned Treasures project. I recently received 49 photos from a lady in Texas who bought a photo album at an antique shop. The photos are mostly from Davenport, Princeton, Malcom and Brooklyn Iowa. There is one from Toronto tho, of an unidentified woman (#40), also one of the identified photos is of a Metzar - that name sounds familiar for some reason. Some of the other surnames are Marlin, Finlon, Kirkpatrick and Schmalz. I hope you can find time to check them out.
