In a city directory for Clinton county I found several names of Berners. My grandfather, Otto F. Berner, mar/ Emma Johnson High on July 02 1902, in Davenport/ his parents, August Berner and Caroline Drymann. I have little info on Otto and none except the names of his parents. Otto & August born in Germany??Caroline, unknown. Do you know anything of an Otto Berner, Jr who died of diphtheria at age 14. Children of Otto & Emma: Otto ?, Marie Charlotte, Carl Herbert. Otto owned a saloon in Rock Island and had a partner, Gustav A. Schumacher with a wife, Emma Fischer from Henry county. Regards, Pat in NV
