My grandfather, Otto F. Berner,born in Germany with parents August & Caroline Drymann Berner from Germany. I saw 2 brothers listed as Farmers 1880-1890 circa in Clinton county, IA. Someone named, Richard Carstensen, sent me a listing of burials in Clinton County,IA, but not in DeWitt, IA. I think that the Berner Brothers listing came from DeWitt. Otto married Emma Johnson High on July 02,1900. There is also a relationship to Albrecht. Carl & Christiann Salzuder (Ssalzieder) Albrecht came from Anklam, Pommern, Germany and one of the 7/8 children married into the High family. Emma's family lived in Davenport, Scott,IA. Otto had a partner, Gustav A. Schumacher, and they ran a saloon, billiard palor and liquor store in Rock Island, IL(across the river from Davenport, IA. Both partners had a wife names Emma.
