My name is Arthur Shehan and I am seeking any information on descendants of Jacob Caleb WILCOX(WILCOCKS) who was born in Canada c1809 and died in Clinton Co., IA Nov. 02, 1863. Jacob's wife was Jane Maria BARTLETT, born c816 in NY and died Jan. 22, 1862 in Iowa. Jacob left his farm in Clinton County to his oldest son Truman (Thomas) Wilcox who was my great-grandfather. Jacob & Janes children, Thomas W., Martha, Calvin, Dudley Marvin, Peter, & Laura Jane were all born in Canada and his daughter Mary A. Wilcox was born in Detroit, Wayne Co., MI. My grandfather Thomas (Truman) Wilcox married Nancy (Mary) Ann MARTIN Feb. 26, 1860 in Clinton County, but by 1871 he married my great-grandmother Mary I. STEDWELL/STEADWELL in Grove City, Cass Co., IA and by 1872 were living in Bedford, Taylor Co., IA.
