My father was Monrad (Gotke?) Paulsen from Clinton, I know nothing about him except he was a law professor at U of Virginia and in NYC. He died in the 1980's. My grandfather was William Hugh Paulsen, he was a merchant in Clinton, Iowa (shoestore?) He probably died in the 1960's, I don't remember a grandmother. I remember he always sent me a card, he seemed very kind.
