Same place in 1870 James Stanton is married to Emma 35, Pa. Ellette Stanton is 14, Also surname Jones children in the h/h. 16 y/o Harith (Henriette) Stanton is in the h/h of Caleb & Sarah Cram. Don't find the Sloper family in 1870 Iowa. Might want to contact the Central Community Historical Society in De Witt, they have indexes for many Clinton co. cemeteries. The Frances Banta Waggoner library in De Witt has microfilms of the De Witt Observer. Might check with them for a death notice.
