I appreciate you looking into this. I have a bit more info if it helps at all. The names Lisi, Karen, Elna and Kirstine are often mentioned on the back of photos. He married a russian women (my great grandmother) named Dina. They moved to Shanghai China during the Russian revolution and had a son named Niels who was later sent to relatives in Denmark until he was 8 at which time he was sent by ship to Canada. Please let me know what you find. Thanks, Leah

Hello Everyone: It looks like such a beautiful day out. My daughter has my weed eater so I can't possibly do yard work, I must stay inside and work. Shucks!! <grin> Things have been quite busy here -- overtime at work, my mother in law has to go to a nursing home and getting my son ready to spend the summer with his sister. So if you have emailed me about things and I didn't get back to you, I apologize. Don't hesitate to send me a reminder. We have some neat things added to the site, the will index is done. We have added a class photo from Our Lady of Angels-1936, an interview with Mike Kearney's Uncle Bud about growing up in south Clinton, and a Kent family outline. If you have time, would you visit the family photo album at http://www.rootsweb.com/~iaclinto/outlines/mike/pics.htm please? It is of Mike Kearney's family. I would like to know if you all can see it and if anyone has any problems with this format for a page. It is something new I would like to do to a few more pages. If this works, I would like to do this with the postcards and a few other things. I would like to thank you all for your submissions and support of our site. We are getting about 75 visitors a day. It just keeps getting better and better. Hope, I want to thankyou for giving me the twp and page #s. It made it possible to do and saved an enormous amount of time. Not everyone can provide that much. For all those who are struggling wih misspellings, this is a good example of what I call the distraction factor, sometimes the transcribers are distracted and it may affect their work: The index said Crimiel, I would have transcribed Carniele, but because I knew what it was supposed to be I can see that it is in fact Carnicle. 1860 census-Sharon Twp, Clinton Cty, Ia.: Jacob Carnicle 34 880 150 Virginia (farmer) Deliverance 25 Ohio Isaac W. 4 Iowa Mary A. 1 Iowa Jacob 70 350 75 Virginia (farmer) 1870-The index said Carmichael, the name is in fact recorded as Carmichael. But: 1870 census-Sharon Twp., Clinton Cty, Ia.: Jacob Carmichael 44 farmer 3450 1200 Virginia Deliverance 34 Ohio Isaac W. 14 farm laborer Iowa Mary A. 11 at school Iowa Thomas 9 at school Iowa Amanda J. 6 at school Iowa Margaret 3 at home Iowa Della E. 11 m. Iowa Jacob Fr.? 80 farmer 1600 Virginia This was a pleasure to do and I hope it helps. I am fairly sure that the initials after the elder Jacob's name are Fr. but no guarantees. I dont think I was aware that he had two daughters-----at least, don't think they were in the household in the early 1930s. I remember he had a son, "Junior" Wilson, who was near my age, a little older I think. I recall the day that they moved from Delmar, the horse-drawn drey wagon hauling crates of belongings to the rr depot freight house for shipment. Where they moved to, I don't know, but it seemed my impression at the time that they were going FAR away. My best guess for the year of their move, 1934. This explains the lack of cemetary records in the local county---they didn't die here. Good hunting.
