Rebekka was a twin; it notes as much on her birth certificate; twin sister- I believe Maria is the name Parents were Claus Glusing from Hackenmuhlen and Rebecca Meyer from Nindorf. (I have been unable to find Hackenmuhlen on a current map). Witnesses at the baptism were Jacob Hinrich Wulborn, a Muller from Hackenmuhlen, Matthias Tampke from Hackenmuhlen, Margarete Elfers and Hinrich Christopher Elfers from Nindorf, Catharine Maria and Claus .?... I did not purchase it, as the price was $25. However, I did write down what pertinent information I could read. Some of the writing was in German, but the event took place in the US. Esther M. GRONWALDT was confirmed in Smithtown, Iowa, December 27, 1914. I could not make out the name of the church. However, after doing some online research, it may have been St. John's German Reformed Church, in Smithtown, near Lost Nation and Wheatland, in Clinton County, Iowa. This church no longer exists. The pastor at the time was Johann GATERMANN, or at least that's what the surname appeared to be. I checked the census and found an Ester M. GREENWALDT, living with her family in South Fork, Jackson Co., Iowa. I was unable to find her in other census records. She may have died young or married. I found the certificate at The Bronze Giraffe Antique Mall in Normal, Illinois. The booth/vendor number is 49. I do not know the! name of the vendor. Perhaps this information will help someone.

Hello Everyone, It has almost been a year since taking over as Clinton County coordinator and I find myself having less time every month for web page changes and updating. The Iowa Gravestone project is up to date, but I fear I am too laxed on the web updates, although there aren't that many anyway. In light of that, I'd like to offer anyone the opportunity to be the Clinton County Coordinator since I think Clinton county deserves more of a full time person. Please e-mail me if you are interested. -- Thanks! There has been many uses made of the buildings over the years - JTPA, apartments etc.
