Mrs. Reick had been in failing health for some time. A short while ago she suffered a stroke of appoplexy, which caused her death. Mrs. Reick was born July 3, 1847 at Mecklenburg Schwerin, Germany and came to the United States at the age of 22 years, locating at Rochester, New York. On July 4, 1869 she was united in marriage to William Reick making their home at Littleport, where she has since resided. Her husband preceded her in death 14 years ago. She is survived by five children, three sons, Fred and Henry at Littleport, and Charles at Elkader, two daughters, Mrs. Ida Clinton in Oklahoma and Mrs. Anna Clinton at Littleport. She also leaves one brother, Fred Meese near Littleport, thirty-five grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday forenoon, March 17th at Littleport. Rev. W.J. Lewinske of Elkport officiating.
