Doerring, 79, Monona, Iowa, died Thursday, October 27, 2005, at Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital, Prairie du Chien, Wis., following a sudden illness. Funeral services were held Monday, October 31, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, with Rev. Steve Brackett officiating. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery, Postville. Leonard Funeral Home, Monona, was in charge of arrangements. Oliver was born December 1, 1925, in rural Luana, Iowa, to Arno and Bernadine (Brandtman) Doerring. He was baptized December 20, 1925, and confirmed April 2, 1939, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville. He attended Luana Public School through the eighth grade. Oliver was married to Rose Marie Ruckdaschel at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, April 3, 1955. Two daughters were born to this union. Oliver farmed with his wife Rose Marie for 32 years and then retired to live in Monona. He worked for Swiss Valley for a number of years, worked part-time at Monona Wire, and put out the school stop signs for the City of Monona for many years. He enjoyed cracking nuts and making rugs in his spare time. Oliver loved spending time with his family and friends, especially all of his grandchildren and great-grandson. Survivors include his wife, Rose Marie Doerring of Monona; two daughters, Marsha (Kenneth) Conway of Stillwater, Okla., and Marilyn (Michael) Rood of Monona; five grandchildren, Melissa (Derick) Gilbreath of Stillwater, Mindy Conway of Stillwater, Megan Conway of Stillwater, Christopher (Sandra) Rood of Sumner, and Cory Rood of Waterloo; one great-grandson, Charlie Edward Gilbreath of Stillwater; three sisters, Maxine Morch of Postville, Eunice (Myrl Dean) Dickman of Postville, and Inez (Dwayne) Moon of Luana; and two brothers, Roland (Marlene) Doerring of Garnavillo and James (Elaine) Doerring of McGregor. Oliver was preceded in death by his parents. Casketbearers were Melissa Gilbreath, Derick Gilbreath, Mindy Conway, Megan Conway, Christopher Rood, Sandra Rood, and Cory Rood Honorary casketbearer was Charlie Edward Gilbreath.
