Ferrall DATE: 2/14/2006 at 05:48:46 Surnames: LOFTSGARD,PETERSON,OPPERUD,ROHAN,WALSH,SELLEVILLE,BRACH,SCHEEL,BANCK,FREDERICKSON Jessie Randine Loftsgard, 103, of Arlington Heights, Ill., formerly of Cherokee Village, died March 15, 2001, at Manor Care Center in Arlington Heights. Born May 1, 1897, on a farm near Gunder, Iowa, she was the daughter of Dorf J. and Gunlild Peterson Opperud. She attended the "Brorby" school in Marion township, near Gunder. She spent her early life living in the Postville, Clermont, Gunder, Iowa, area. For three years she served as a cook in the Clermont Public Schools. The next 14 years she was a cook at Marshall Fields in Chicago. In 1966 she retired to Cherokee Village where she remained until 1993. She enjoyed tracing her Norwegian heritage, baking and sewing family quilts. Survivors include two sons ­ Louis Vernon Loftsgard of Cherokee Village, and Leon Loftsgard; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, James Loftsgard; two daughters ­ Georganna Rohan and Donna Walsh; three grandchildren ­ Scott Loftsgard, Sue Belleville and Barb Brach; two brothers ­ John Opperud and Pete Opperud; and three sisters ­ Clara Scheel, Etta Banck and Irene Frederickson. The funeral was March 20 at East Clermont Lutheran Church in East Clermont, Iowa, with Helen Beth Kuhens officiating. Burial followed at East Clermont Cemetery.
