Hi Judy, Spring Rock, Iowa is in Clinton co. Clayton co. does have a Marion twp. but no town named Spring Rock. There is also a Marion co. in Iowa (3rd tier of counties from the southern border). There's a great resource on IAGenWeb for finding Iowa towns & which county they are located in, or if you want to look at all of the towns in a certain county. This page shows Spring Rock: http://iagenweb.org/state/places/s.htm And this page all the towns in Clinton co.: http://iagenweb.org/state/places/clinton.htm Here is an Iowa map, showing all of the counties: http://iagenweb.org/state/map.php As you can see, Clinton co. is located a few counties south of Clayton co. (the list you joined). Check out the Clinton co. IAGenWeb site, using the search engine to look for mention of your family. Be sure to post your query on the Clinton co. Query board, and subscribe to the Clinton co. email list . You'll find a links to the Query board & to subscribe to their list, on the county index page. http://www.rootsweb.com/~iaclinto/ Finally, explore the main IAGenWeb website. You'll find many Special Projects, including Iowa census transcriptions, gravestone photos & WPA transcriptions, 19th century Iowa newspaper transcriptions, civil war info. and more! http://iagenweb.org Good luck to you in your search!
