Lillie was born on December 26, 1907 in rural St. Olaf, Iowa, to Ole and Margaret (Baumeister) Olson. She attended Monlux Country School through the eighth grade. Lillie was united in marriage to Vern Trudo in 1927. Three children were born to this union. Lillie and Vern farmed their entire married life in the St. Olaf area. She was a member of Norway Lutheran Church and was active in their various women’s groups. Lillie enjoyed cooking, gardening, quilting and spending time with her family. Survivors include three children, Betty McMahon, Elkader, Lavonne (Mervil) Mabb, Postville, LaVern Trudo, Luana; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, in March of 1968; several brothers and sisters and one great-grandson, Christopher Scarff. Memorial Services were held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 30, 2006 at Norway Lutheran Church, rural St. Olaf, Iowa, with the Rev. Marshall Hahn officiating. Inurnment followed in the church cemetery. Leonard Funeral Home in Elkader was in charge of arrangements.
