Can anyone tell me where the 'Monona New East Side Cemetery' is? I know there is an Eastside cemetery in Elkader, but found reference to the Monona East Side in the obit for GUSTAV EDWARD COLBY who died in 1971. http://iagenweb.org/boards/clayton/obituaries/index.cgi?read=40054 Could it be a new section of the Monona City cemetery? Sharyl, Because the Monona Cemetery is on the east side of town, my guess would be that they may be referring to a new section of that cemetery that was opened then. This is only my guess. It is also called the Monona City Cemetery. But the official name is Eastside. There is no new cemetery. There is also the Lutheran Cemetery which in on the south end of Monona. And the Catholic Cemetery which is on the SE side of Monona, behind the Catholic Church.
