ABEL Julius C. Abel died at the family residence, 1266 Curtis street, Monday evening at 6:20 o'clock. Mr Abel suffered a stroke one year ago and another one Sunday moring. He never regained conscousness after the second stroke. He was born June 19, 1864, at Garnavillo, Iowa, and was married December 26, 1888, to Mary Sheffert. A year later they moved to Wagner Township, Clayton county, where he farmed for nine years, then moved to Monona, where he followed the carpenter trade for nine years. He then moved to Dubuque, where he was employed at the Metz Manufacturing company until his illness. He is survived by his widow and six children, Warren E., Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. Earle Shearer, Rockford, Ill.; Mrs. Marion Buehler, Des Moines, Iowa; Mrs George M. Wimmer, Lloyd A., and Jay J., all of Dubuque; three grandchildren, and two brothers, Edward Abel, Guttenberg, Iowa, and Ferd Abel, Monona, Iowa. The body is at the Egelhof Funeral chaped, 464 Main street. Services will be held there Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock and interment will be made in Linwood cemetery.
