The deceased entered the bonds of holy matrimony with John George Sautter Feb. 2 1850 and soon after emigrated to America and settled at Cleveland, Ohio and from there they moved to McGregor, Iowa where she lived until 1897 and the remainder of her life interchangably with her children. This union was blessed with 9 children. The father and 5 children preceeded her to the spiritual world, leaving 4 children. C.H. Sautter in Campbell, Cal., Mrs J.G. Reidel, in Monona, William Sautter, Monona, Mrs. E.C. Pringel, Elkhart Wis, one sister, Mrs. Knecot in Omaha, Neb., 9 grand children, 2 great grand children, and many relatives and friends to mourn her departure. The remains of Mrs. Sautter was taken from Elkhart Lake, Wis. to the home of Mrs. and Mrs. J.G. Reidel, Monona, Iowa Oct 25th. On Oct. 27 after a short ceremony in the house the body was taken to the Giard M.E. church, where Rev. Clauger and Rev. E. G. Glaeser conducted the services after which she was taken to the McGregor cemetery there to await the final resurrection morn.
