Marilee grew up graduating from MFL High School in NE Iowa not far from Postville. She graduated from Wartburg College and then received a masters degree from Drake in Biology. She taught a year in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and then for a couple years at Des Moines Christian before entering the Insurance Business which prepared her for her current job at John Deere Credit in Johnston. Marilee was married for 34 years to her beloved Dan and raised two daughters, Brenda and Jennifer. She and Dan were active and committed members of Redeemer Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and recently was very active with the Whiz Kids tutoring program. She was committed to bringing the knowledge of Jesus to as many people as she could. Determined to be a good wife and mother she and Dan shared a lot of time enjoying camping, including trips to Yellowstone, Florida (a wet Disney World included), a 25th anniversary journey to Colorado and many shorter events. She took comfort in working in her garden, sewing, antiquing and collecting forms of Victorian art along with the time she spent reading. A very special group of women at work formed a loving group called Grandma's Club that was close to Marilee's joy in Jordan. She is preceeded in death by her father Russell and husband Dan and brother Wesley, but she has left a lot of loved ones behind: Brenda, Rich and Jordan Bash; Jennifer Bote and significant other Tobie Liberty along with her mother who lives in Postville. She has 3 brothers: Harlan, Leslie and Arlis White and three sisters: Jeleen Hutchcroft, Yvonne Ellwood and Vada Guyer. We are grateful to God for the gift of this mother, friend, and member of our community. _______________________________________________ submitters note: Marilee was my sister.......we lived on the Sheppard/Morch/White farm from 1956 until we granduated from high school at M-F-L Monona, Ia. *************************************************************************** This is an automatically-generated notice.
