The services were conducted by Rev. Eugene Shipp and music was provided by Dale Johnson, vocalist, and Mrs. Gladys Holthaus, organist. Pallbearers for the service were Ed Farrell, Glen Stocks, Noble Pugh, Albert Brooks, Carl Burgin, and Eldon Fenton. Burial was in the Mount Harmony Cemetery in charge of the Appleton Funeral Home. Mr. Smith was born October 8, 1891 near Garber, Ia. the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Smith. On December 4, 1913 he married Minnie Mae Hansel who died December 12, 1932. They were the parents of three children. On November 6, 1935 he married Thelma Harris Hansel at Galena, Illinois. They were the parents of one daughter. Surviving Mr. Smith are his wife, Thelma; three sons, Floyd Smith of Edgewood, Chester Smith of Cedar Rapdis, and Everett Smith of Cedar Rapids, and two daughters, Mrs. Dale Culbertson of Edgewood, and Mrs. Donald Davin of Cedar Rapids, Ia.
