The Mohning descendents who came Clayton County are being honored at a "Pioneer Potluck" at the Plymouth County Museum on February 25th. We are looking for information on the earliest Mohning: Herman Heinrich I and his wife Marie Pepmeyer who came to Clayton County, from Germany, around 1850 and two of their children who remained in Clayton County, Johann Friedrich "Fred" Mohning and Katharine Margrethe Mohning (later Hedemann). I also have the obit for son William from 1932. Now for the connection Annie Schulte was the daughter of Henrietta Charlotte Wilhelmina Meyer and Johann Gerhardt Schulte. Henrietta C. W. was my father's grandmother through her second marriage to Frederich Benjegerdes. So it was a 1/2 relationship. My father told me about visiting his Mohning cousins when he was younger, especially Irving Meyer. I would very much like to know more about the descendents of Henry & Annie.
