Handke, 80, of Guttenberg were conducted by Pastor Wayne Hagen at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at St John Lutheran Church. Mr. Handke died Thursday, Dec. 10, 1992 at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital. Burial was in Guttenberg City Cemetery with the follwoing casket bearers; Allan Kickbush, Don Sadewasser, Lyle Schroeder, Hermie Schroeder, Harvey Miller, and Wallace Pensel. Honorary bearers were Richard Sadewasser, and John Eglseder. Visitation was at the Tuecke-Alllyn Funeral Home. Mr. Handke was born in Guttenberg on Jan. 28, 1912, a son of Harry and Amanda "Sadewasser" Handke. He was married at Galena, Ill., Dec. 1, 1933 to Margaret "Maxine" Kickbush, who died April 9, 1985. Mr. Handke was a construction worker in the Guttenberg area. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Judy) Koehn of Amana, one son, Jerry (and Cathy) of Guttenberg; eight Grandchildren, 11 Great-grandchildren; one brother Arthur of Elkport, Three sisters: Marie Pensel of Guttenberg, Mrs. Donald (Lucille) Dodge of Colesburg, and Mrs. Irene Schroeder of Garber, and a special friend Elsie Mallory of Guttenberg. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, one daughter, Betty Thiese; one brothers in infancy, and one sister, Loraine Miller.
