Wiskus 1928-2006 <http://iagenweb.org/boards/clayton/obituaries/index.cgi?rev=142087> AUTHOR: Charlene Barnha DATE: 1/21/2007 at 20:14:22 Surnames: WISKUS,WILLIAMS,WILLIE,HANSEL,GUYER,DEMPSTER,SCHENKE,MORAREND,GLEASON Faye Charlene Wiskus, 77, of Colesburg, died Saturday morning, May 27, 2006, at her home following a long illness. She was born November 6, 1928, in Elkport, IA, to Floyd and Bertha (Willie) Williams. She graduated from Elkport High School. She attended beautician school in Dubuque, and operated a beauty shop in Elkport for three years. She was united in marriage to Lavern Wiskus on October 10, 1950, at St. Patrick's Church in Colesburg. Four children were born to this union. They made their home in the Colesburg area, where they farmed for many years. Faye enjoyed gardening, sewing, caring for animals and bird watching. Her family was the greatest part of her life. Survivors include her husband, Lavern Wiskus, Colesburg; her children, Colleen (Wesley) Hansel, Colesburg, Lee (Jean) Wiskus, Colesburg, Steven (Cathy) Wiskus, Colesburg and Lesa (Lynn) Guyer, Colesburg; five grandchildren, Terry (Leng) Dempster, Stephanie Wiskus, Shelley Wiskus, Shawna Guyer and Austin Wiskus; one brother Ray (Shirley) Williams, Elkader, three sisters, LaVera (Burdette) Schenke, Colesburg, Jean (Leonard) Morarend, Osterdock and Gerry Williams, Elkport and a brother-in-law, Glen Gleason, Greeley. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Marvin, Ivan, and Julius Williams, a sister Irene Gleason and a grandson, Michael Hansel. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to Heartland Hospice for their care and compassion shown to all of us. Honorary Bearers: Leng Dempster, Stephanie Wiskus, Shelley Wiskus, Shawna Guyer, Austin Wiskus Caskets Bearers: Terry Dempster, Phil Schaffer, Elvis Gleason, Jim Pasker, Merlin Wiskus, Loras Clemens Funeral Services: 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 29, 2006, at United Methodist Church, Colesburg, with Rev. Missy Brown officiating. Burial: Mt. Harmony Cemetery, rural Elkport Friends may call from 3 to 7 Sunday, May 28, 2006, at Leonard Funeral Home, Edgewood and after 9:30 at the church on Monday.
