The Rev. R.C. Schlueter, pastor, officiated. Burial was in the Lutheran cemetery. Mrs. Sabbann, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Buck, was born on a farm near Garnavillo on May 19, 1865. Her early life was spent on a farm near Farmersburg. She married John Sabbann on May 16, 1884. The couple made their home on a farm near Farmersburg. In 1924 they retired to Monona. Mr. Sabbann died on Feb. 23, 1935. Surviving are a daughter, Melinda Sabbann, Monona; two sons, E.A. Sabbann, Monona, and G. A. Sabbann, Elkader; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Henry Vullgraf, Farmersburg, Mrs. Charles Oelfke, Kansas City, Mo.; and Mrs. Jeff Torian, Flint, Mich; and two brothers, Emil and Elbert Buck. >From a scrapbook my grandparents had (My grandmother's, Rosalyn (Sabbann) Smith's, grandmother) * although only referred to here as "Mrs. Sabbann", her maiden name was Anna Marie Buck (which is partly how my parents chose my name)
