Rev. Albert __ock officiating. Pallbearers were Cecil Bahls, Vernon Hoth, Dwayne Bahls, Scylvan Bahls, Stanley Stade and Clifford Wilker. Emma Elizabeth Hoth was born March 2, 1911, the daughter of Max and Bertha (Hohlberg) Bahls, near Garnavillo, Iowa. She was raised and educated in the area attending rural Clayton County schools. She was baptized and confirmed at St, Paul's Lutheran Church at Garnavillo. She was united in marriage to Willis Hoth, on June 16, 1930, at Garnvillo. Two children were born to this union. The couple farmed near St. Olaf for many years until moving into Elkader in 1958. After moving to twon she worked for a time at Mitchell's Greenhouse. Willis died June 19, 1974. She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ. Deborah Circle, and the East Side Cemetery Assoiciation. Emma Elizabeth Hoth died Tuesday night December 25, 1990, at the Central Community Hospital in Elkader. Survivors include her daughter Iva Dean, Mrs. Burnell Wilker, of Elkader, a son Leon of St. Olaf, six grandchildren, Dan, Brian and Mark Wilker, Leona and Suzy Hoth, and Julie Friederich, five great-grandchildren, a brother, Walter Bahls of Guttenberg, and two sisters, Cora Kliefoth of Monona and Anita Stade of Garnavillo. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers and sisters, Esther Hoth, Art, Verni, Bill, Arno, Carl and Lawrence Bahls and one at birth.
