In 1914, she was united in marriage to Arthur Hoth. Six children were born to this union, but two of them died in their infancy. The mother, father and two brothers preceded her in death. On March 31, 1929, her husband, Arthur Hoth, being at that time secretary of the Lutheran Zion's Church, passed away at the age of 38. Mrs. Hoth, though she was ill, had to run the farm with her two sons. Her weakness increased and finally she was unable to walk around. An attack of grip about Christmas led to severe complications and for the last month Mrs. Hoth had to stay in the bed. On the afternoon of March 1, about 4 o'clock she entered into rest. She had been a member of the Congregation and of the Ladies Aid. Her death brought her lifetime to 40 years, nine months, and 20 days. Those mourning are the four children, LeRoy, Lester, Helen, and Reuben, the step-father, John Funk, Elkader, three sisters, Mrs. Louise Kaiser, Monona, Mrs. William Moeller, Luana, Mrs. Arthur Wilker, Monona, and one brother, Arno Funk, St. Olaf. The funeral services were held at the Lutheran Zion's Church at Clayton Centre, and were largely attended by mourning relatives, friends, and neighbors. Interment was made in the old cemetery, the Rev. Berthold F. Korte officiating.
