Durr - IAGen DATE: 3/27/2010 at 10:05:42 Surnames: HAVLICEK,LESTINA,BERGER,STICKFORT,AMBROSE,MARTIE,LENTH,LOONEY,TESAR Charles Henry Lestina, son of Frank and Emma (Havlicek) Lestina, was born Dec. 27, 1925 in Giard Township and received his education in the rural schools. He served in the U.S. Army from 1950-1952. July 23, 1976 he married Grace Berger. Charles worked in construction, at a sawmill and was a farmer. He died Friday, Dec. 29, 1995 at Prairie Health Care Center in Prairie du Chien, WI. Surviving are his wife; six sisters, Helen Stickfort of Garnavillo, Irene Ambrose of Waterloo, Donna Martie of McGregor, Marcella (Arnold) Lenth of Garnavillo, June Looney of Prairie du Chien, and Loretta (Clifford) Tesar of Prairie du Chien; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Thomas and James, and a sister, Stacia. Private funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 1, 1996 at Schultz's Funeral Home in Monona with Father Paul Nelson officiating. Burial was in the Monona City Cemetery. Casket bearers were L'Dean Henkes, Daryl Henkes, Wayne Mielke, Dale Henning, Terry Tesar and Tim Looney. Postville, Iowa newspaper of the time clipping.
