Durr - IAGen DATE: 3/27/2010 at 09:49:49 Surnames: HOLLY,LESTINA,OSMUNDSON,GENTZ Gerald Lestina Last Rites Held Funeral services for Gerald Benjamin Lestina, 44, were held Wednesday morning, March 31, at 9:30 o'clock at St. Patrick's Catholic church in Monona, with Rev. William J. Menster officiating. Burial was in St. Patrick's Catholic cemetery. Mr. Lestina died suddenly of a heart attack at his home near McGregor, Saturday, March 27. He had been in poor health for several years suffering with arthritis. He was born the son of Ben F. and Mathilda (Holly) Lestina, January 26, 1921, in Giard township. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Patrick's Catholic church in Monona, and received his education at the Beulah school. He was married to Lorraine Osmundson of Clermont, May 3, 1944, at St. Patrick's church in Monona. The couple continues to farm on the home place. His parents preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife, one son, Jerry Lee, and one daughter, Chery Ann at home, and one sister, Mrs. William (Jean) Gentz of Dubuque, also several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were H. Leslie Leas, Ben Morch, Giles Blietz, Lloyd Bacon, Simon A. Moses, Gerald Mielke, Ralph Welch, and Reynold Kann. Postville, Iowa newspaper of the time clipping, hand dated 1965.
