Warner Dead San Francisco, Jan 18 – Prof. Amos Grisvold Warner, professor of Applied Economics at Leland Stanford Junior University, is dead. He was born at Elkader, Iowa, Dec. 21, 1861, and was graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1885. Three years later the degree of Ph.D. was granted to him by Johns Hopkins University. From 1887 to 1889 he was general agent of the Charity Organization Society of Baltimore. From 1889 to 1891 he was a lecturer on economics at the University of Nebraska, and in the latter year was appointed Superintendent of Charities in the District of Columbia. In 1893 he was appointed to the professorship in Leland Stanford Junior University which he held up to his death. He was the author of “American Charities” and other works on economic subjects. ~New York Times, January 19, 1900
