Lindroth, 62, of R.R. 2, Waverly, Ia., died Thursday afternoon, January 25, 1979 at the Waverly Municipal Hospital in Waverly where he had been a patient for 19 days. He was born on Feb. 9, 1916 in Luana, Iowa, the son of Frank H. and Lucy (Pahlas) Lindroth. He was baptized on April 9, 1916 in St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Luana by Rev. J.. Westenberger, and was confirmed in the same church on April 13, 1930 by Rev. H. T. Kumpf. He graduated from the Luana High School on May 18, 1933 and then was employed in garages in Luana and Dubuque, Ia. On June 11, 1937 he was united in marriage to Helen J. Page in Luana. The couple moved to Fairfield, Ia., where Efferd was employed in a garage, then moved to Traer, Ia., where be bought a Standard Station. In 1940 they moved to Forest City, Ia., where he bought a D.X. Station. In 1942 he sold the station and became employed by the Chevrolet Garage in Forest City. In 1950 they moved to Des Moines, Ia., where he became Parts Manager in a Ford Garage. In Sept., 1951 they moved to Waverly where Efferd became Parts Manager for Coonradt Ford-Mercury. Because of ill health, Effert (sic) was forced to retire in July, 1977, and since that time has been hospitalized periodically in Methodist Hospital in Rochester and the Waverly Municipal Hospital. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Waverly and was a member of the Ford Parts and Service Club of Northeast Iowa. He is survived by his wife, Helen, two sons, David P. of Apple Valley, Minn., Donald K. of West St. Paul, Minn., one daughter, Barbara Anderson of Cedar Falls, Ia., two sisters, Mrs. Hall (Florence) Swenson of Postville, Ia., Mrs. Irene DeSotel of Monona, Ia., one brother, Myron, of St. Olaf, Ia., and five grandchildren, Elizabeth and David, Jr. of Apple Valley, Minn., Jeffrey, Amy & Michael of West St. Paul, Minn. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services were held on Mon., Jan. 29 at 1:30 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Waverly. Rev. James P. Ehrlichmann, Rev. P. C. Matthias, and Rev. Harold C. Kumpf officiated. Burial was in Harlington Cemetery, Waverly. The Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly was in charge of arrangements.
