Landt, 69, of Luana died suddenly Saturday afternoon, April 11, at 12:30 o'clock at a Prairie du Chien hospital. She suffered a heart attack in her home, Thursday, April 11, and was taken by ambulance that evening to the hospital. She appeared to be recovering after receiving hospital treatment. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, April 14, at 1:30 p.m. at St. John Lutheran church in Luana with Rev. Luther A. Meyer officiating. The body lay in state at the church from 12 to 1:30 p.m. Burial was in the Monona I.O.O.F. City cemetery. As Frieda Sophia Marie she was born the daughter of William Frederick and Mary (Possehl) Buckman, July 30, 1894, in Monona township. She was baptized in Zion Lutheran church at Clayton Center by Rev. F. W. Seifert. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith April 12, 1908, at St. Paul Lutheran church in Monona by Rev. Otto Wappler. She attended the Eno school in Wagner township and later the Bayless Business college in Dubuque. She was also engaged in practical nursing for many years. She was married to William F. Landt, Nov. 1, 1933, at St. Paul Lutheran church in Monona by Rev. Albert Daugs. The Landts lived on a farm south of Luana for a number of years, retiring to Luana in 1952. Mrs. Landt was a member of the Ladies Aid society, now the American Lutheran Church Women, and a member of St. John Lutheran church. Preceding her in death were her parents, one sister, one son by a previous marriage, and one grandson. Surviving are her husband, William Landt; two daughters from a previous marriage, Mrs. Elmer (Rosalyn) Krambeer of Postville and Mrs. Harold (Margaret) Sebastian of Dubuque; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her dearly beloved Landt children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Arthur and Arno Buckman of Monona.
