My great grand father, Johan Heinrich Chritian Carl Meyer came from Eldena, Grabow, Mecklenburg, Germany in 1872. He went by the name of Carl Meyer. The family went to the Zion Lutheran Church in Clayton Center, Read Township, Clayton County, Iowa. He was married to Elisabeth Wille from Wanzer, Stendal, Saceh Anhalt which was Prussia then. They lived on a small farm a mile or so North of their church. I am looking for people in that area who are related to them as I am thinking they moved there because of family already living there - they had to have known someone there as the people usually followed family.
