Durr - IAGen DATE: 7/9/2010 at 10:19:10 Surnames: SPRINGBORN,LEMBKE,ERB,DAVIS,STOCKBURGER,LARSON Elizabeth Dorothea Bertha Lembke Erb, 89, Monona, died July 12 1979. She was born March 9, 1890 on a farm three and one-half miles north of Monona, the daughter of Frederick Lembke and Elise (Springborn) Lembke. She was baptized and confirmed in the Monona Lutheran Church and was united in marriage to Karl Erb October 30, 1912 at the home of her parents. To this union five children were born. They lived on farms in the Luana, Monona and Postville area until retiring to Monona in 1944. They joined the St. John Lutheran Church in 1913 where she was a member of the Ladies Aid. Survivors include one son, Elmer of McGregor; three daughters, Mrs. Oscar (Louise) Davis and Mrs. Ernest (Frances) Stockburger of Luana and Mrs. Helen Larson of Monona; 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, infant child and two brothers, Emil and John Lembke. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 14 at St. John Lutheran Church in Luana. The Rev. Henry Knoploh officiated. Schutte's Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the church cemetery.
