A. F. Volle officiating. Burial was in the Clayton Center cemetery. Pallbearers were Bob Allen, Homer Griffith, George Hochhaus, Maurice Larson, MaLloyd Mueller, and J. E. Shaffer. Lester Heinrich Karl Vogt, son of John and Minna Doerring Vogt, was born March 6, 1897, at Farmersburg and died Feb. 6 1963 at his home in Elkader of a heart attack. He was baptized July 18, 1897 at Clayton Center by the Rev. F. W. Seifert and was confirmed March 20, 1910, at Farmersburg by the Rev. Pett. Mr. Vogt received his education in the rural school and farmed until five years after his marriage in 1926 when he and Mrs. Vogt moved to Elkader, which was his home until his death. He was married to Leona Kalbaum Jan. 7, 1926 at the Peace United Church of Christ, Elkader, by the Rev. C. H. Franke. Mr. Vogt had been a member of the Peace United Church of Christ, Elkader, since his marriage. He served on the church council for four years and as treasurer for six years. He was a member of the Royal Order of Moose at Cedar Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Roy who died in childhood. He is survived by his wife; two brothers, Alvin, Elkader, and Hugo, Monona, and one sister, Mrs. Harvey (Hattie) Schultz, Postville.
