PALAS Elkader, Ia -- Mrs. Louis J. Palas, 72, died suddenly Thursday night after a heart attack. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday from the Zion Lutheran Church at Clayton Center, with burial there. Surviving are the husband, who was Clayton county sheriff from 1932 to 1938; three sons, Luber (sic) and Harley of Farmersburg, and Sylvan of Chicago; a daughter, Mrs. Gaylord Oelke, of Monona; a brother, J.A. Lenth, of Elkader, and four sisters, Mrs. William Fuhrman, of St. Olaf, Mrs. Lena Palas of Postville, Mrs. Bertha Reynolds, of Mason City, and Mrs. Louisa Schultz, of Castalia.
