Gardner, 75, were held Thursday at the New Hampton cemetery. Dr. Gardner died Friday at Harrisburg, Pa. Dr. Gardner was born in New Hampton was graduated from the New Hampton High School, from Grinnell College at Grinnell in 1910, and from Johns Hopkins in Baltimore in 1914. He practiced in Pittsburg from 1914 to 1952, and served as secretary and treasurer of the Pennsylvania State Medical Society, and was past president of the Alleghany County and the Pennsylvania State Medicl Society. Last summer Dr. Gardner received a plaque from the Pennsylvania Medical Society commemorating 50 years of medicine. He is survived by his wife, the former Elsie Shaffer, New Hampton, a daughter, Jane Gardner, Aquaseu, Md.; two sons, Dr. Weston D. Gardner, Milwaukee, Wis.; Robert L. Gardner, New Castle, Pa.; and 11 grandchildren. Services were held in Pittsburg Tuesday. SOURCE: Mason City Globe Gazette Dec. 11, 1954
