If you have any interest in the CASEY, QUIRK and/or BRANNON surname please send me a note - geanie@cox.net - and I will get you in contact with Richard Casey. Sincerely, Mike Peterson ------------------------ Although I've already passed on a photo identified as Katherine 'Kate' Quirk Brannon. Another individual appears in several photos bearing the same name. Kate was the first wife of Patrick H. Brannon. She was born in 1849 and died in 1901. They were married in Fayette County, St. Rose, Eden Township and then moved to New Hampton, Chickasaw County where she died. Patrick remarried. He apparently was a prominent businessman in the area. I believe all of the photos to be of the same woman. One as a young woman. (This photo is interesting in that she is wearing a cross identical to the one worn by Mary Quirk Casey in an 1885 photo). The next appears to be a newlywed photo. The third is more mature. The fourth seems to be the same woman, perhaps not in good health at the time - the curl's out of her hair, her mouth is drawn, she looks very tired, sad even. (The ears seem the same to me as the first photo as does the nose). Any opinions? I'm also sending them out to the Fayette and Chickasaw County GenWeb sites asking for help in making an identification. My thought is if someone can make a positive ID on P. H. Brannon, prominent citizen, then we've got our match. My gut says its Kate. Interestingly, brother Fr. Michael Quirk was in the area, Fayette County, about the same time she married Patrick Brannon. Makes me wonder if she didn't keep house for him in Fayette County at St. Rose with Mary taking over duties in Grand Junction, Greene County when he went there. Kind of a big brother finding good husbands for his sisters kind of thing.
