I have a g-g-greatuncle that wrote a family history. He was born in 1864 and mentioned that he attended the Bradford Academy. He said that it was well remembered by all the old residents of that part of the state and was one of the first schools established for instruction beyond the common school grades. It was not endowed and it was not self supporting and it was soon discontinued. It was replaced by the Bradford Township High School. It was located in the same building as the academy directly across the street from "The Little Brown Church". The academy had to close prior to 1881. Interesting stuff. Curt Watts
