Place: New Hampton, Chickasaw Co IA (at home) 7. Buried: Graceland Cemetery, Chickasaw Co IA 8. Connection to Chickasaw Co: Chickasaw County resident from right after the war, died and buried in Chickasaw County IA. 9. Branch of Service and Unit Served With: -US Army, Co A, 95th NY Regiment; -Inducted 21 Aug 1863 at Malone, Franklin Co NY; -Discharged 13 Jun 1865 at Washington, D.C. 10. Supplementary Information: -Wounded at Antietam and was a prisoner of war for 6 months. -John ANNETT was the Grandfather of Verna E. ANNETT HARTMANN, my Grand Aunt. -His death was actually the result (years later) of what I interpret as blood poisoning, stemming from abcesses, triggered by the old shot still remaining in his hip from his combat wounds.
