Seek information on Thomas Ryan, son of Phillip and Margaret Ryan. He was born in the village of Gleninchnaveigh, Parish of Upper Church, County Tipperary, Ireland. He and his brother Dennis emigrated to the United States in the early 1850s. His parents and siblings followed in 1855. Phillip Ryan and his family settled in the Town of Fabius, Onondaga County, New York, where they were enumerated on the 1855 New York State Census. At the time of the census they were residents of Fabius two months. Phillip died intestate 10 May 1858, in Fabius. Because a wife/widow was entitled to only one-third of her husbands real property, the remaining two-thirds being reserved to the children, Margaret had to have her surviving children sign off on their share of the property. When she decided to sell the farm land in April 1866, Thomas and Dennis Ryan were residents of Roxbury, Dane County, Wisconsin. By September of that year they were residents of Baraboo, Sauk County, Wisconsin. Thomas moved on. He is known to have lived for a while in Lawler, Chickasaw County, Iowa, and subsequently in Clinton, Clinton County, Iowa. He had a descendant by the name of Katie Walker. Any information on Thomas Ryan would be greatly appreciated. I would be happy to share my research on this family with any descendants. dick barr Syracuse, New York
