Hi Gene, In The Early History of New Hampton, Iowa, by Virginia Alice Gable (1933) page 1, fourth paragragh: In 1833, Bradford was designated as the county seat, and the following officers were elected on April 3, 1854: James Lyon, judge; S.C. Goddard, clerk; John Campbell, treasurer and recorder; D.A. Babcock, prosecuting attorney; and Andy Sample, sheriff. The only record which shows the date of this election is James L. Frazee as bondsmen, (this was preserved from the woodbox) and filed in the county judge's office on April 12, 1854. Legend says that S. C. Goddard resigned as county clerk and that J.A.J. Bird was appointed to fill the vacancy. Little Turkey Cemetery lists F.K. Goddard, died 8 July 1898, age 64 years. Hope this helps. I did not find anything on CERO. Carolyn
