Andreas Historical Atlas of Iowa - 1875. In it I found a George C. Millard living in Section 23 of Bradford Township. His occupation was listed as "Farmer & Carpenter". He was born in Columbia County, Pennsylvania and came to Iowa in 1873. I hope this helps.
