I am really up against a brick wall with my ancestor Terrence COOGAN who died in Chickasaw County Iowa. Have been unable to find a death certificate or a cemetery where he would be buried. His wife's obituary says he died in Oct 1893 on their farm in Chickasaw County. No record of his death can be found. Found some records from 1891 where his wife is buying land and it does not mention his name. Either she was a modern woman or he was already dead. The last record I have for him is the 1885 census where he is a farmer living in Washington, Chickasaw County, IA. Does anyone know what cemeteries would be around Washington? What Catholic Churches etc? Would appreciate any help I can get. This is a puzzler. Pat Connor Coogan Rockville, MD
