    1. [IACHICKA] Lookup In Bradford
    2. Wm & Penny Kresl
    3. Hi Gang~ Would someone be willing to do a lookup for me and get some information on my ggg grandfather, James SERGEANT(Sargent)? For many years, James and his wife Fanny HALE lived in Hebron, Jefferson Co WI, where 2 of his children remained and raised families. About 1876, James's 2nd eldest son, Andrew SERGEANT migrated to the NASHUA/BRADFORD area in Chickasaw Co., Where upon James went to live with him, at the age of about 74. He was blind. I found an actual document filed in Jefferson Co WI courthouse saying Andrew would care for James until his death. The Jefferson Co Union Newspaper did pick up on a partial death notice at the time of James death in Chickasaw Co since he had previously been a citizen there for so long. This was all it said: SERGEANT, JAMES (b. 1801 @ New Berlin, Chenango Co NY in 1801-d. 13 Dec 1889 @ Bradford, Chickasaw County, IA). The cause of death was paralysis of the lungs. He was totally blind. Married in 1823 to Fanny Hale (d. 1875). See JCU 20 Dec 1889 and 27 Dec 1889. He leaves 3 sons and 1 daughter. Listed only are: Andrew, of Bradford, IA Emily (Mrs S.W. Baily)- (d. 1874. They actually had 5 children: Giles Andrew Helen Daniel(my gg) Emily(d1874) James's wife Fanny (Hale) Sergeant d 1875 and is buried in Hebron, Jefferson Co, James's name and date of death were also listed on that tombstone. Was he shipped back to Hebron WI and buried in WI after he died or is he actually buried in IA? Can anyone find this information for me? A Church record of death or a death notice? I do not know what church affiliation these people were? If someone could look this information up in the Nashua/Bradford area I would be eternally grateful! I will pay an agreed fee to anyone willing to do this lookup for me. I have been looking for information of this line of Sergeant's for 7 years. I know with this new information I found that James Sergeant did indeed die in Chickasaw Co IA! Is there a genealogical society in the Bradford/Nashua area I can write to as well? Thanks to the group for any help, Penny Kresl e-mail: [email protected] Penny's Genealogy: http://www.elknet.net/kresl/Penny/penny.html Delavan, WI.USA.
