So I went back and purchased them and have been trying to locate a direct descendant of this beautiful family. The names are as follows: Father: Ole Erickson Natvig Mother: Gertrude Hofland Natvig Children: Andrew Alert Carl Day Ella George Hannah Herman Iven Lena Mathilda Ole Jr. Peter I believe that the picture was taken around 1886 or 1887. I do not see any connection between this Ole Natvig family and the photo of the other family but I'm sure that they were donated by the same person as the framing was identical. The second family was: Father: Wayland Galusha (W. G.) Shaffer Mother: Izetti Children: Alice Fred Grace Gordon Henry Lauren Myrtle >From what I can gather on the internet, the Wayland Shaffer family was from the area of New Hampton, Chickasaw Co, Iowa. I am also looking for this family as I purchased both of the photos. From the internet information it appears that the mother was Izetti Alcena Markle. She was born May 21, 1867 in New Hampton, Chickasaw Co., Iowa. Wayland and Izetti were said to have married on March 26, 1885 in New Hampton, Chickasaw Co., Iowa. So......This is all of the information that I have right now but I feel very confident that I will find a direct descendant of these people and I do hope that they will keep the memory of these beautiful people alive. Anna Marie Borlaug had a brother named John Olson Borlaug. John and Anna were the children of John Olson Borlaug AND Clara Josephine Johnson. Clara Josephine Johnson is my third cousin. For some reason, I have collected a lot of information on the family of Anna marie borlaug, the wife of Ole Olson Natvig. Co-incidentaly, i was about to dispose of some of this information.
